PostSubject: Bid Bird Hunting   Tue Oct 07, 2008 7:05 pm

I have been turkey hunting for 5 years, and i have killed 3 turkeys on my property in clinton, la

The last one i killed had 3/4 in. spurs and a 10 1/2 in. beard, i killed it at 10 yds with my remington 870 pump.
I dont use blinds, i was just sittin in some brush wearin my ghillie, and i called it up myself with slate call, (the first one i called up on my own. I had to run/walk 3 miles before i finally caught up with him on the edge of a field and then he dropped, i had only had time to set up a decoy 6 yds away from me before he walked up and bam he dropped and he never knew what hit him. It was my favorite turkey hunt.

i agree and disagree, everybody loves making that 300 yard shot to kill that 10 pt uve only seen once in the last year, but stalking a turkey for hours on end and then finally outsmarting it and sneaking in range of it is really really exhilirating.

Yeah, I did, I used your format but replaced the part where you said turkey stuff with deer stuff.

But lets get back on topic...

if you go turkey hunting in texas yes, louisiana/mississippi NO, in texas i swear those birds are half retarded, just sit on a rock and they come to you, but in la, u gotta stalk them and wait and get within 40 yds without being seen and when they see you if u move ur finger theyre gone
